Travis Smith is a member of the Canadian National team. He has won a silver medal in the keirin and a bronze medal in the match sprint at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He is an 11-time Canadian national champion and holds records at several tracks.

Registration Update - Field Sizes as of June 30
Below are the number of athletes currently registered for each mass start at this year's AVC as of June 30th. Cat 1 men, Cat 1/2 women and Cat 1/2 masters must be pre-registered for the mass start events they want to compete in by Friday's afternoon session. Those individuals not be guaranteed a spot in the mass start events after the start of the afternoon session. The number of individuals able to qualify out of the qualifier points racers will be determined by the number of preregistered/prequalified athletes.

Directions to the Alpenrose Velodrome
Alpenrose Velodrome's address is 6149 SW Shattuck, Portland, Oregon. One way to get to the track is to take the Terwilliger exit (297) off of I-5, then go straight for half a mile (north) on Bertha Street or Terwilliger to Highway 10 and take a left (west).

AVC Expo
The first ever AVC Bike/Gear Swap will be held Sunday, July 19 from 10am-3pm under tent at the Alpenrose Velodrome. Located right next to the racing action, individuals will have the opportunity to sell/buy gear. Tables are only $10 for the day and entry is free for potential buyers. Spots are limited, so reserve yours today by contact Steve Schwaeber at schwaebs at earthlink dot net.

2009 Registration Information
Preregistration is strongly encouraged for all riders. For all mass start events, riders must ride their field's qualifier points race Friday night. The only riders who are automatically qualified are Cat 1 Elite Men, Cat 1/2 Women and Masters. The number of slots available out of the qualifier will be based on the number of preregistered riders who are pre-qualified.
